Admission to the Libraries

Access to the University Library is restricted to staff and students of the University who are in possession of a current valid identification card issued by the University, and to other persons authorized by the Librarian. The library card can be used by card-holder only.

Personal goods such as bags, etc, should be locked in the Library pigeonholes, and must not be left there for the next day. For reasons of security, ID cards, cash and other important personal possessions should not be left unattended. The Library has no responsibility in case that personal property are damaged or theft.

  How to Get a Library Card

Faculty and Staff of the University may apply for a library card at Arts & Humanities Library or Medical Library.

The undergraduates (including associate undergraduates) and graduates may apply for a library card at the Arts Library or the Medical Library, with the notification issued respectively by the Academic Affair Office and by the Graduate School . The freshmen will receive their library cards from their class presidents.

On-job graduate students and foreign students may apply for a library card with a registration certification and a guarantee statement respectively from the Graduate School , the Academic Affair Office, and the International Cultural Exchange School .

  For Non- university Users

Except for the University users, other people may also utilize the resources of our library. They should first apply for a temporary admission card, which costs RMB 5 yuan and will be valid for one day. In this case, they are required to show a letter of recommendation issued by their employers and their ID certificate (employee card, student card, retire card, ID card or passport).

Non-university users are not allowed to apply for a library card, but they may ask the staff to copy library materials for them. They may also ask for document delivery.
