The Library Director of Fudan University Library

Ge Jianxiong, the Director of Fudan University library, was born in December, 1945 at Huzhou , Zhejiang Province and graduated from Fudan University with a doctoral degree in History in 1983. He is also the director, professor and doctoral supervisor of Institute of Chinese Historical Geography and Research Center of Historical Geography, Fudan University . His other titles include the member of International Historical Population Committee, the director of Chinese History Academic Committee, the deputy director of Chinese Qin and Han History Research Committee and the deputy director of Shanghai History Academic Committee. His research interest covers historical geography, Chinese history, population history, history of immigration, etc.

Prof. Ge has traveled around China and dozens of countries across seven continents. Among others, the most impressive travels for him include Ali District of Tibet, Antarctica and Africa .
