Configuring your laptop

In order to use the Laptop IP Service ports, you will need the following:

  • A laptop computer
  • 10-Base-T Cable
  • Ethernet Adapter

Off-campus Access
Self-service Photocopying
Electronic Reading Room

Wireless Access

Wireless network access is available in many locations on campus, including Fudan University Science Library. See Wireless Networking at Fudan for more information and a list of locations with coverage maps . Users must configure the network for access as below.

Follow the steps listed below to configure your computer to use Laptop IP Service ports.

1  Click on the Start button, point to Settings, then select Control Panel . From within the Control Panel , double-click on the Network icon.

2  Select the TCP/IP adapter representing your Ethernet card, and click on the Properties icon.

3  Finish the IP settings as follows

  • IP address: 10.55.180.*( *means 1~255.)
  • Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Default Gateway: 10.55.180.1

4. Click OK.


Using the fixed LAN ports

1 Network jacks are available for laptop use in the following rooms of the Arts Library.

Please finish the IP settings as follows

   • IP address: 10.55.180.*( *means 1~255.)
   • Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
   • DNS : 202.120.224. 6
   • Default Gateway: 10.55.180.1

2 The Science Library

  • IP address: 10.55.170.*( *means 1~255.)
  • Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
  • DNS : 202.120.224. 6
  • Default Gateway: 10.55.170.1
